The Year 1 and 2 team would like to express their warmest thanks to all of the fantastic parents who gave up their time to run activities and work with our terrific children.

THANK YOU!

On Monday 16th September Dance Splash was held at the Michael Fowler centre.  Miss Gaynor had an amazing group of children who performed a magical Sea dance in front of parents, teachers, friends and even the Major!  They did a superb job and were asked to perform in front of the whole school at our Junior Hui in week 9.

Well done children – you were absolutely brilliant!

Worms, Worms, Worms!

This term we learnt all about wriggly, squiggly worms.

We visited Seatoun Kindy, smelt worm pee, touched worms, listened to experts, and even set up our own worm farm at school!

Worm Facts:

  • Worms are really good at making top soil
  • Worm wee is good for your garden
  • Worms are covered in slime
  • They have bristles to help them move along
  • They live inn burrows under the ground
  • They like to eat leaves, scraps, dead plants and coffee!

Harold came to visit us at the beginning of the term and taught us all about making healthy food choices.  We got to sing songs with him and help him do his grocery shopping.  It was really fun!

Towards the end of the term we started learning about the Commonwealth Games.  Over the holidays we had to keep an eye out for anything to do with the ‘Friendly Games’.  We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge in Term 4 and learning more about our athletes.
